At the National Parks volunteer gathering cum dialogue session, we learnt about some updates on the expansion of Sungei Buloh wetland reserve, which is good news, both for the birds and for the Nature lovers such as me, as well as another presentation on a recent overseas staff and volunteer training trip.

I also learnt from the programme about some ongoing surveys being done at the Eco-link bridge which I have wanted to visit, including bird banding surveys and small mammal surveys. After the presentation talks, the volunteers were organized into groups to do a scavenger hunt, which was meant to be a fun-filled activity for us to help one another locate recognizable landmarks and familiarise ourselves with the vicinity around the education centre. I find the people there friendly and I am glad to be in the company of like-minded people who are also into nature conservation.
